About Us

The intention of this family run business is to provide you with a varied, interesting menu throughout the year, ensuring all food is fresh, sourced locally, and prepared on the premises daily. We pride ourselves on our service levels, combining a friendly attitude with professional attention.

Formerly part of the Tannery buildings the now fully restored Café remains as one of the original buildings alongside the Vincou River. Look at the front facia of the building and notice the rendering is not complete to the roof; this is because the leather hides were laid in the roof space allowing the wind to pass through and dry the hides prior to manufacture. The tanneries of Bellac used to supply leather to fashion houses such as Dior, Lacoste, etc.

We restored the 300 year old building during January through June of 2006, working to ensure the original features and character remained intact, whilst still complying with the commercial regulations. Inside, take care of the head room if you are over six feet tall, the beams are not forgiving!

And finally, we offer the best location, by far, in Bellac and perhaps even in the Haute Vienne. Come and see for yourself.
